Oklahoma is facing a healthcare crisis. Our state ranks 50th, nationally, when it comes to a lot of health rankings.
When you also factor in Oklahoma's budget shortfall and the increasing cost of healthcare, area hospitals are worried some jobs in the medical field are in danger.
A Regional Summit was held in downtown Tulsa Tuesday, to give area hospitals, legislators and business executives an opportunity to brainstorm ways to help Oklahoma overcome the crisis.
President and CEO of Hillcrest Health Systems, Kevin Gross, said, "To have just good strong hospitals and providers, so when people get sick, they know they've got someone to rely on."
Hospital leaders in Arkansas were also on hand to give tips on how they recently expanded their Medicaid program.
