With a chance of wintry weather this weekend, EMSA is getting ready - and wants Green Country residents to get ready as well.
EMSA says they're prepared for winter weather. They have their winter uniforms and vehicles equipped with snow chains for the cold and ice.
In order for you to be prepared for winter weather, EMSA recommends you
Make sure you have three to five days worth of food, water and any medication you need.
Make sure your carbon monoxide and smoke detectors are working.
If you don't have warm housing, make plans ahead of time to stay with a friend or family member.
"You may have a warm house, but you probably know someone who is financially stressed or stubborn, and they may not be heating their home to where it's safe," said Adam Paluka, EMSA spokesperson.
"Check in with those people - check in today."
EMSA also reminds residents to make sure their cars have a full tank of gas. Have food, water, blankets and plenty of warm clothes in case you break down - and make sure your cell phone is charged.
