Inauguration ceremonies for the Creek Nation's new principal chief and other elected officials are scheduled Saturday.

Principal Chief-elect James Floyd will be sworn in January 2 after winning the November 7 general election.

Floyd is the former director of the Veterans Administration's Jack C. Montgomery Medical Center in Muskogee and the Ernest Childers Clinic in Tulsa.

Second Chief Louis Hicks, who was unopposed for re-election, and other elected and re-elected districting governing officials will also be sworn in during the ceremony. They include Darrell Proctor; Del Beaver; Randall Hicks; Rufus Scott and Robert Hufft. Proctor and Hufft are incumbents.

The 10 a.m. ceremony will be held at the Mvskoke Dome at 2950 Warrior Road in Okmulgee.
