Derailment Closes Owasso Railroad Crossing

Several cars of a northbound freight train derailed Tuesday morning at a crossing on 76th Street North in Owasso. 

Owasso police said the wheels of several cars came off the track at the crossing just west of Atlanta, but the cars stayed upright.

Railroad officials told police to expect the crossing to be closed for several hours as they work to get the cars back on the tracks.

Owasso Police are rerouting traffic until the crossing is reopened.
