Tulsa County commissioners are considering asking residents to approve its use of a 1/10th of one cent of the current county-wide Vision 2015 for capital improvements.
Commissioner Ron Peters said Thursday the funds would be used to invest in Tulsa County parks as well as Expo Square.
“The Tulsa County parks are also some of the finest and largest parks in the region. More than 1.5 million people from the Tulsa region use these parks on an annual basis. Capital improvements are necessary to create the public spaces that improve quality of life and promote healthy lifestyles for Tulsa County residents,” said Ron Peters.
He says Expo Square has an annual impact of more than $300 million to the Tulsa area.
“We must keep improving our distinctive properties if we are to maintain our competitive advantage over other regions,” Ron Peters said.
Peters says the commissioners plans to meet soon to finalize projects for its capital improvement program.
