Tulsa police are searching for thieves they said stole a Salvation Army kettle full of money from in front of the Reasor's at 17th and Yale.

James Hardison was watching the kettle and said a car drove up and the passenger called him over to talk while another man went behind him and grabbed the kettle full of cash.

“I chased him about a quarter of a block and then he pulled his shirt up as if he had a weapon of some sort and that's when I quit chasing him after that,” he said.

Hardison said the three people drove off in a dark SUV. He described the person who took the kettle as a black man wearing all red with dreadlocks.

The Red Kettle Campaign is the Salvation Army's biggest fundraiser of the year.
