Tulsa's John 3:16 Mission is working to make the Thanksgiving holiday a little brighter for families in need.
Monday, hundreds of people lined up to receive free Thanksgiving turkey baskets, with all the trimmings.
Reverend Steve Whitaker said they hope to pass out 5,000 baskets, and it's all thanks to the community's generosity.
"We're helping a lot of people," Whitaker said. "We're doing it because people that are making money and are generous with it, so thank you for being generous and giving."
John 3:16 will hand out more turkey baskets Tuesday and Wednesday.
They're still taking donations at the John 3:16 Shelter or one of the Under the Sun garden centers at 91st and Sheridan or 51st & Harvard.
You can also make a cash donation on the John 3:16 Mission's website.
