Tulsa tied a record for consecutive days with temperatures above freezing Thursday, and will set a new one on Friday.

Back in 1985, the temperature in Tulsa stayed above freezing for 257 days, from March 6 to November 19.

This year the last time the official temperature in Tulsa was below 32 degrees also happened to be March 6, which makes keeping track of the record easy. Tulsa tied the 1985 record today and will set a new one tomorrow if the forecast holds.

The News On 6 WARN team expects this year's streak to end with a bang on Sunday morning when a hard freeze settles over eastern Oklahoma. If that happens that will mean a new record of 259 consecutive days of temperatures above freezing.
