Tulsa's mayor honored two city employees Monday morning for their service to the community. The Tulsa Blue program recognizes employees who go above and beyond for their co-workers and citizens.

Lisa Simpson was honored for her work getting more handicapped parking around the Philtower building. Gary Burr developed the "Learning With a Wrench" program - which helps Union High School students learn how a vehicle-repair shop.

"I was not expecting any type of recognition, because it really belongs to the students and the administration who's helped bring the program up and get things going," Burr said.

Along with the two Tulsa Blue awards, the city recognized a total of 41 employees for their service.
