TU: Golden Hurricane Sets Focus On Cincinnati, Bowl Eligibility

Tulsa head coach Philip Montgomery and players met with the media on Tuesday for their weekly press conference. After back to back wins, the team is preparing for Cincinnati.

“They’ve got two [quarterbacks] that can pull the trigger and do a great job, and they got great people surrounding them,” said Montgomery.

The Bearcats lost to Houston last week, (the only team in the AAC who is still undefeated). And if TU dishes Cincinnati another loss this week the Golden Hurricane will be bowl eligible.

“I don’t think it surprised us; it was our plan,” Montgomery stated. “You know, and that’s what we talked about. And our envision of this season was not just to come in here and compete, but to come in here and win. We had every intention of, you know, let’s get bowl eligible and see where the chips fall. You know, if we got a chance at the end to be in that competitive fight for the conference title, we want to be in the midst of that, and so I’m not surprised by it. That’s our plan; that was our mission. We’re close to accomplishing the first part of that. You know we got three games remaining, you know, our focus is to go try to win all three of them.”
