There’s a chill in the fall air this weekend, and the National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning and frost advisory for areas of northeastern Oklahoma.
Green Country residents should take precautions to cover or take plants inside before midnight Saturday.
The freeze warning – for Osage, Washington, Nowata, Craig and Ottawa Counties – is in effect until 10 a.m. on Sunday.
The frost advisory, in effect until Sunday at 10 a.m., includes the following Oklahoma counties: Pawnee, Tulsa, Rogers, Mayes, Delaware, Creek Okmulgee, Wagoner, Cherokee, Adair, Muskogee and McIntosh. In Arkansas, Benton, Carroll and Washington County are under the advisory.
After midnight Saturday, clear skies and light winds should allow temperatures to drop, and overnight lows are expected to be in the upper 20s to lower 30s across the northeastern part of the state.
Bright, sunny skies through the day and a light NE wind will make for a pleasant, cool autumn day with temperatures reaching the low-mid 60s during the afternoon hours on Sunday.,
