A worker was critically injured in an explosion at a Halloween attraction in Sperry. Firefighters tell News On 6 it happened around 12:30 p.m. at Psycho Path in the 1500 block of East 106th Street North.

Authorities said the worker was in a barn, trying to open a 55-gallon drum with a torch when the drum exploded. A Sperry firefighter said it's not clear what was in the drum.

The young man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, the firefighter said.

Psycho Path is a haunted house attraction built in a wooded area with visual and audio effects, owned by Victor Marquez.

According to their website, Psycho Path has attractions called The Dark Ride, Shadow Box, Rage Cage and Quarantine, a paintball experience. Saturday is the last day for the attraction to be opened.

A spokesperson for the attraction said, "After much consideration and the blessing of the family, we are opening this evening. Please keep our worker in your prayers."

The man's name has not been released.
