Police arrested three people after a chase involving a 2004 Toyota Tacoma pickup reported stolen from a Tulsa apartment complex late Sunday.
Police said the pickup's owner reported it stolen at 10:20 p.m. from the Fiesta Apartments in the 3600 block of East 2nd Street. At 2:30 a.m. Monday, an officer spotted the pickup leaving the QuikTrip at Harvard and Admiral Place and attempted to stop it.
Officers said the pickup took off leading police on a lengthy chase around Tulsa. Police said the driver avoided several stop sticks during the pursuit, but after hitting a curb which caused a flat tire, the chase ended at a dead end at Virgin Place and Jamestown. Three people in the pickup got out and ran.
Police said one of the three, a female juvenile was quickly taken into custody. Two males who also ran were eventually taken into custody after a search of the neighborhood by police K-9 officers.
They were identified as Kendall Whitlow, 18 and Victor Gonzales, 18, both of Tulsa,
Whitlow was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of eluding, possession of stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest. Gonzales was booked on complaints of eluding, joyriding and resisting arrest. Jail records show both have a court appearance set for November 2.
