Foreigner performed at the BOK Center Friday night, but before they took the stage, the band spent the day hanging out with Bristow High School choir students, who were special performers at the show.

Of course it was fun for the students, and their faces said it all - they were beaming after performing in front of thousands – but band members said it’s more than a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, it’s also about raising awareness about choir programs, and raising money for the future.

Many know the words to one of Foreigners most famous songs, I Want To Know What Love Is, but few get to take the stage and sing it with them.

A group of Bristow High School choir students did just that Friday night at the BOK Center.

Foreigner bassist, Jeff Pilson, said, "It's the look on their faces that tells it all. They are in heaven. I wish I got to sing with a known rock band at 15 or 16 years old."

"I'll always remember it. I’ll always bring it up, probably, and say I sang with Foreigner,” said Bristow choir student, Charis Ball.

Ball and her fellow choir members were chosen after they entered a contest called Rock Then Roll for UR School, sponsored by radio station 103.3 The Eagle, and won.

Now, Foreigner is donating $500 for their music program, and on top of that, Bolin Ford in Bristow is donating money through the Drive For UR School campaign.

Ford donated $20 for every person who test drove a vehicle Friday afternoon before the concert.

Pilson said they partner with Ford and local high schools because more needs to be done to keep music in classrooms.

"I was a product of public school music education. I know how important it is and how much it influenced my life, so it's tremendously important to my life, and important to everybody, that we help fund these schools and get back on their feet," he said.

Ball plans to continue pursuing music when she graduates.

"I plan on going to a Christian college and majoring in worship arts, so, music ministry. I can do worship, and music and praise the Lord," she said.

Singing on stage with Foreigner brings her one step closer to her dream.

Surprisingly, many of the students said they weren’t nervous before their performance; they just wanted to take in that very special moment and were thankful for the experience.
