Police said firefighters discovered a meth lab when they put out a fire in a West Tulsa motel room early Friday.

Firefighters were called to the Royal Inn Express in the 2200 block of West Skelly Drive just after 3:30 a.m. The fire was contained to an air conditioning unit. Firefighters said they discovered items consistent with a meth lab in the room and called for the HAZMAT team.

Police evacuated nearby rooms as a precaution.

Police arrested Edward Hamilton, 39, and Elizabeth Adams, 35. Officers booked them into the Tulsa County Jail on a complaint of endeavoring to manufacture.

Officers responded to a domestic incident at the same room earlier in the morning.
