An Arkansas man was hospitalized with head injuries after a collision in a construction zone on U.S. Highway 412.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred about 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, just west of the Creek Turnpike overpass near Catoosa.

OHP says a car driven by Doris Patneau, 63, of Tulsa, was stopped in a construction zone for traffic congestion.

A motorcycle driven by Dell Hendren, 48, of Buena Vista, Ark., wasn’t able to stop in time and struck the ground before striking the rear of Patneau’s Honda Accord, the OHP report says.

Patneau was not injured, but Hendren was taken to a Tulsa hospital. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the report.

The investigating trooper said both drivers appeared to be in normal condition, but Hendren was traveling at an unsafe speed for conditions.
