A Tulsa man led police on a chase in Fayetteville, Arkansas Sunday evening, officers say.
Police said the chase ended when his pickup ran over spike strips on Interstate 49.
It started when police responded to a report of a man drinking alcohol inside a convenience store. They say they found Travis Grider, 35, sitting in his truck.
Police told KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith, the officer noticed an odor of alcohol and saw a six pack of beer inside the pickup when he approached Grider. They said when Grider saw the officer he drove off and the chase began.
Police said they found marijuana in the center console of the truck and an 8-1/2-inch knife next to it.
They booked Grider into the Washington County detention center on complaints of fleeing, reckless driving, operating an unsafe vehicle, driving with a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance.
