Tulsa Police arrested a man they say kidnapped his nephew at knifepoint then wrecked his victim's car while driving under the influence. Kenneth McVay is in the Tulsa County Jail, booked on complaints of kidnapping, armed robbery, third or more driving under the influence and felony eluding.

The nephew told police he was asleep when his uncle came into his room around 4:30 a.m. Sunday and demanded a ride home. When the nephew refused, McVay reportedly held a steak knife to his nephew's throat and forced him into a car, an arrest report states.

An officer tried to pull McVay over for erratic driving, and the 31-year-old man kept going. Police say speeds reached up to 65 mph before McVay drove into a park and high centered the car on a rock.

Officers said he had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage and red watery eyes.

McVay is a convicted felon with a long history of convictions including assault, robbery and driving under the influence of alcohol, court records show.
