A well-known criminal in Tulsa County is back behind bars. Jerry Clyde Stephenson Jr. is charged with five felonies, including larceny.

This isn’t the first time he’s had trouble with the law. He's got a long criminal history, including accusations of ATM thefts.

Thursday, Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies made four stops in their search for Stephenson and ended up finding him in the parking lot at the jail where he said he was about to turn himself in.

“It's nice weather in Oklahoma," were Stephenson’s last words before heading to jail.

North Carolina authorities issued a warrant for his arrest Thursday afternoon, and, hours later, deputies got him in handcuffs.

Corporal Michael Moore said, "He has nowhere to go because of his past and the allegations now."

Stephenson is accused of being involved in the theft of two racing engines valued at nearly a $500,000 from Buck Racing Engines in North Carolina.

Deputies arrested "Street Outlaw" reality star, Ronnie Pollard and Christopher Goodman, who were wanted in connection to the same crime two weeks ago.

Moore said Stephenson has been linked to a few burglary rings in the past.

Authorities said he's served time in prison for ATM thefts and he's also been accused of stealing millions of dollars in cash and merchandise from banks and businesses over the years.

“He thinks he's smarter than the police and one step ahead of us. Unfortunately, we have dealt with him for so long that he's not," Moore said.

Deputies first looked for him where he works in Sand Springs, but he wasn't there. They also went by his house, and one deputy drove on the levee behind it to make sure he didn't run.

The family said he was at the jail turning himself in, and that's where deputies caught up with him.

"He's probably going to spend a long time in prison, so, hopefully, we won't have to deal with him again for some time," Moore said.

Deputies said they aren't sure of the role Stephenson played in the most recent theft, but they know surveillance linked him to that location in North Carolina.

He will be extradited to North Carolina next.
