The fire department shut off the pumps at an east Tulsa QuikTrip after 25 gallons of gasoline spilled early Tuesday.

Firefighters were called to the store at 165th East Avenue and Admiral Place at about 2:45 a.m. HAZMAT crews stopped the gas from flowing into nearby storm drains and sprayed a solution on the gas to neutralize it.

Firefighters are now trying to determine what caused the spill and how much gasoline got into the city's storm water system before they arrived.

At last word, the store's gas pumps were still off.
