A motorcyclist was injured in Osage County after a deer ran in front of him, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The crash took place just before 9 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015, on County Road 1701 about 2 miles south of Hominy.

Troopers said Randy D. Nowlin of Hominy was northbound on the county road riding a 2006 Honda motorcycle. A witness told investigating troopers that a deer ran in front of the Honda. Nowlin took evasive maneuvers, laying the bike down on its left side, a collision report states.

Nowlin ended up 20 feet from where the bike came to rest, the trooper said. The 44-year-old man was taken to the hospital where he is said to be stable with head injuries. He wasn't wearing a helmet, according to OHP.
