Suspect In Death Of Talala Man Charged With Murder

Tulsa County prosecutors filed a murder charge against the suspect in the murder of a disabled Talala man.

Vernon Smith faces a single count of 1st-degree murder in the death of Chazz Holly.

Holly, 27, was missing for weeks before his body was found along a highway south of Antlers on Sunday, July 19, 2015.

Tulsa Police arrested Smith, 27, the next day.

Holly, who had cerebral palsy and other health issues, disappeared with his father's pickup when his parents took a short vacation in June. 

According to an arrest report, police believe Holly died on Sunday, June 21, 2015, after Smith and another suspect tied him up and put him in the back of the truck and drove around Tulsa for several hours in the heat.
