Tulsa Teen Arrested After Accidental Gunfire In Moving Car

Police officers stopped a speeding car through a north Tulsa neighborhood late Thursday after hearing gunshots.

Police officers stopped a car speeding through a north Tulsa neighborhood Thursday night after hearing gunshots.

Officers were on scene of a homicide investigation at Lacy Park when they heard the gunfire and went to investigate.

As they tried to stop the car near Virgin and Utica, they someone throw a handgun out of it.  

Police said 18-year-old Lenaryd Tillis told officers he was holding the gun when it went off accidentally.

Police booked Tillis into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of possessing a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent. Jail records show Tillis is being held on a $10,000 bond with a court appearance set for July 31.  

Police said no one in the car was injured.
