Officers arrested a 40-year-old man after a police chase and standoff in south Tulsa late Sunday.

Police said they stopped the car 61st and Lewis for a traffic violation at 11:30 p.m. but Andre Ramsey refused to talk to the officer and drove off.

During the chase, police used stop sticks to flatten two of its tires and stop the car.  Officers said Ramsey still refused to get out and after a 45-minute standoff, police broke a window and fired pepper balls inside.

Police said Ramsey continued to resist getting into a scuffle with officers who had to tase him before arresting him

They booked Andre Ramsey into the Tulsa County jail on complaints including eluding, driving left of center and resisting arrest.  Jail records show his bond was $1,700 with a court appearance set for July 13.
