A Checotah man drove a four-wheeler off a 12-foot ledge, leaving him critically injured, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers say Michael Foshee Jr. was driving an Arctic Cat just after 1 a.m. Friday on private property in McIntosh County. He was not using the headlights when he drove over a concrete pad then off the ledge, a collision report states.

The four-wheeler flipped a half time, coming to rest on the 32-year-old man.

Authorities say Foshee was taken to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition with head injuries. Troopers say there was a smell of alcohol on his person. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
