Oklahoma's own Pawnee code talkers were honored Monday for their service during World War 2.
The dedication was held Monday morning at the Pawnee County Courthouse.
During World War 2 the Pawnee code talkers were an invaluable resource because enemy forces could not translate their native language.
"Countless lives were saved because they couldn't understand, they couldn't defeat what they couldn't understand," said Marshall Gover with the Pawnee Nation.
The Pawnee code talkers were honored for their service by the White House two years ago.
