Severe Storms Knock Out Power To Thousands In Green Country

Well after midnight, thousands of Green Country residents were without power due to the severe thunderstorms and at least one tornado that hit Saturday night.

Well after midnight, thousands of Green Country residents were without power due to the severe thunderstorms and at least one tornado that hit Saturday night.

Outages as of 2 a.m. Sunday:

OG&E outages in NE Oklahoma include: Muskogee, 2927;Sapulpa,164; Bristow and Boynton, less than 100.

PSO outages in NE Oklahoma: Tulsa County,14,110; Wagoner County, 21,805; Osage County,157; Mayes County,140; Okfuskee County, 3,141; Rogers County,1,285.

Rural outages:

Verdigris Valley Electric Cooperative has 2,198 customers without power in Northeastern Oklahoma. These are scattered but include the Sperry, Turley and Skiatook areas, a large part of central Osage County, areas around Bartlesville and Dewey, Collinsville and Owasso, Claremore and Oologah and the area south of Coffeyville.

Lake Region Electric has a large area of outages from just east of Coweta to Wagoner to Cherokee County. Their total is 491 customers.

Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative has 1,873 customers without power in a widely scattered area from north of Pryor to Grand Lake.

Indian Electric Cooperative has 497 customers without. They cover spots from near Tulsa and well to the west.
