Semi Breaks Down On I-44 In East Tulsa

One lane of Interstate 44 in east Tulsa was closed for about a hour early Monday after a semi broke down. 

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the westbound semi came to a stop near 193rd East Avenue in Catoosa just after midnight. Troopers said the semi was making a turn when a metal rod connected to the front right wheel fell off.

Initial reports said the semi had jack-knifed, but the OHP said that was not the case and after a tow truck removed the semi, the westbound lane was reopened to traffic.
