An Idabel animal shelter flooded this weekend because of the rainy weather, but the dogs have a temporary home while the shelter cleans up the mess.

The nonprofit group Oklahoma Animal Alliance immediately offered to help and brought the dogs to the Alta Vista Animal Hospital in Tulsa, where they will stay for the next 10 to 14 days.

Word spread through social media about the nine dogs that needed help, and that help came quickly.

"Everybody that came from multiple agencies did a great job,” volunteer Jennifer Dunn said. “It was a spur of the moment thing and everyone jumped in within record times."
