Blue Bell Announces 'Fresh Start' In Ice Cream Production

Blue Bell announced on its website that it will start a new training program Monday at all of its production facilities - including the one in Broken Arrow.

The program will include an intensive cleaning of the facilities. Blue Bell says any ice cream produced next week will be for testing and not sold to the public.

Blue Bell CEO and president Paul Kruse said they intend to make a fresh start that begins with intensive cleaning and enhanced training. They also plan to strengthen their preventative maintenance program and make some equipment design changes.

"This is a paradigm shifting event at Blue Bell, and we want to put in place new systems to drive continuous improvement," Kruse said.
