Tulsa Road Blocked After SUV Knocks Down Power Pole

Tulsa Police say an SUV struck a power pole on South Peoria Tuesday morning, snapping the pole in half.

Officers said the damaged pole and low-hanging power lines forced them to close the road until PSO can make repairs.

Police said the driver of the SUV was headed north when he veered right and hit the pole. They ticketed the driver for distracted driving.

Officers said the driver wasn't injured.

PSO estimates the power to be repaired by 11:30 a.m.
