The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirms a man shot by a deputy Wednesday night in rural Creek County has died.

The sheriff's office said the shooting occurred at about 8 p.m. outside a residence at West 141st Street and 257th West Avenue east of Heyburn Lake. The office said deputies were responding to a domestic violence call when a deputy fired his weapon.

The OSBI and the sheriff's office have not released any more information on the person who was shot, but we know a medical helicopter flew the man to a Tulsa hospital where he later died.

OSBI investigators were seen at the scene Thursday morning gathering evidence. The OSBI said it will release more information on the shooting sometime Thursday.
