Tulsa Police arrested a man they say impersonated an officer in an attempt to discover who had damaged his car.
Police identified him as Jaren Wilson, 19, of Tulsa.
Officers said they went to the Hideaway Pizza near 75th and South Olympia at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015 to check a report of a disturbance.
Customers told police a man in a suit identified himself as a police officer and accused them of vandalizing his car. According to police, that man was Wilson. They say he also told the store manager he was a cop and asked to see video surveillance footage of the parking lot where he parked his car.
While Officers were conducting their investigation, Mr. Wilson returned to the scene and told officers what happened.
Wilson said someone had written "---hole" on his window while he was in the restaurant eating pizza. According to police, he identified himself as an officer in order to see the surveillance footage.
When the customers told him they were calling police, he left, police said.
Police say Wilson told them he returned to apologize. They booked Wilson on one count of impersonating a police officer, a misdemeanor. The jail released him after he posted a $2,000 bond.
