Although it's been warmer this week, experts at the Tulsa home and garden show say it's still too early to plant flowers like azaleas.
The RiverSpirit Expo Center was filled with flowers and shrubbery on Saturday at the Tulsa Home and Garden Show. Many attended to gain inspiration about what to add to their flower beds.
There were elaborate fountains and yard furniture, and popular flowers that flourish in the summer, like impatiens and petunias.
Former HGTV Yard Crashers host Ahmed Hassan said it's not ideal conditions to plant yet, but there is something you can do to get your yard ready.
“Right now, is a perfect time to do pruning,” Hassan said. “Things are still dormant, plants are about to give off their new growth. Now is the time to get in there and slash and burn, even if you don't know what you are doing, you can get away with it this time of year."
Experts said to wait until mid-April to plant anything, just to make sure all the winter weather has gone away.
