Some great teachers got to hear how much they matter today.

This was Teacher Appreciation Day at the Oklahoma School of Science and Math in Oklahoma City.

Again this year, anchor Scott Thompson read excerpts from essays the students wrote about a meaningful teacher back in their home district who made a difference in their lives.

OSSM is the state-funded, two-year, residential high school for students who show exceptional ability in science and math.

From this side of the state, teachers from Sand Springs, Sapulpa, Tulsa, Fort Gibson, Tahlequah, Broken Arrow, Henryetta, Pawhuska, Owasso, Jenks, Grove and Coalgate were recognized by former students, now seniors, at OSSM.
