On Tuesday night, Owasso baseball coaches Larry Turner and Steve Holleman made it to 1,000 career wins with a 10-2 victory over Sapulpa.
The program honored the two coaches with 1,000 cupcakes, as well as plaques and trophies.
In the big win, Turner's son (Dodger) pitched in his first-ever varsity start (wearing his dad's jersey).
-The Rams have won nine championships in the past 18 years, on 16 State Tournament appearances.
-Turner has been the head coach at Owasso for 32 seasons, where he has coached many top high school prospects throughout his career.
Turner is an Owasso High alum and former Rams All-Stater (1973). The veteran coach led his program to a 36-0 record in the 2013 season, making it easy to tell he ranks top 10 among Oklahoma coaches in career wins.
