First-degree murder charges have been filed against a Creek County woman in the death of her son. Rebekah White was arrested for murder and child abuse in the death of 3-year-old Jason White.

Her boyfriend, Christopher Whinery, was arrested in January on the same charges.

Emergency responders were called to a home in the 700 block of North Moccasin Street at 5:29 p.m. January 13th to find Jason unresponsive.

Whinery and Rebekah White first told police Jason had been jumping on the bed, fell and hit his head, according to authorities. He died two days later, and medical staff at Saint Francis said his injuries were caused by being shaken as well as blunt force trauma to the head.

“The injuries were not consistent with the story given by the boyfriend and the mother," Major Mike Reed said.

Two other children in the home were taken into DHS custody.

White is being held without bond.
