As animal lovers continue to rally for improvements to the Idabel City Pound, there are still a few dogs from that location available for adoption in Tulsa.

The Idabel shelter has been in the news since a video surfaced showing a dog there eating or licking the corpse of another dog.

The Humane Society of Tulsa responded by making the trek to Idabel to transport seven dogs back to Tulsa. Evan Fadem of the Tulsa Humane Society said four of those dogs are still available for adoption.

"They're sweet dogs, they're friendly dogs. They're not aggressive," Fadem said.

You can call a pet adoption counselor at 918-495-3647 to ask about an Idabel dog or many other available animals looking for homes. The Tulsa Humane Society is located at 6232 East 60th Street and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

If you can help fund improvements to the Idabel shelter, there is a Go Fund Me account set up for that reason.
