Commuters need to be ready to make some detours as several construction projects will begin in Green Country this week.

In Rogers County, the Highway 266 bridge over the Verdigris River Overflow is being replaced. Phase one of the project begins Monday, with the construction of a temporary replacement.

This will allow for traffic to continue through that area while crews tear down the old bridge and eventually build a permanent replacement.

Part of the west side of the IDL in Tulsa will be narrowed Monday for bridge maintenance on Interstate 244. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the left lane will be closed between 3rd Street and the off-ramp to eastbound U.S. 64.

And there may be more roadwork coming to 244 later this year.

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission is meeting Monday to vote on a proposed project that would replace all the pavement from the IDL to Delaware.

This would tie into another project already approved to begin in March: to replace the pavement on I-244 between Delaware Avenue and 73rd.
