Broken Arrow Police made an arrest Friday night in a possible case of child abuse.
A 2-month-old boy is in intensive care with critical injuries; BAPD arrested 38-year-old Jason Billey on complaints of child abuse.
Doctors say the parents' version of what happened doesn't add up with the boy's injuries.
"The injuries were severe enough to put the baby in intensive care. Right now it's critical," said Sergeant Thomas Cooper, with Broken Arrow Police.
Broken Arrow Police say doctors examining the infant called detectives on Wednesday when the baby arrived at the hospital.
"Our officers went up there and immediately contacted the detectives and they've been working through that process," Cooper said.
Police say the injuries to the child happened at the parent's home. Police say the injuries baby are "extremely critical," and they are looking for any signs of child abuse."Whenever it's a kid involved, obviously we want justice to be served, but we are going to go through the steps prior to that to make sure that everything is in place for either an arrest or for any charges to the district attorney," Cooper said.
The investigation is ongoing.
