Sapulpa Police say a person of interest in the fatal Interstate Inn fire has been questioned and released. Daniel Gene Crew turned himself in to authorities Thursday after police said they wanted to talk to him.

The fire broke out Saturday, January 24, 2015, at the Inn located near the Turner Turnpike entrance gate. Firefighters found the body of 57-year-old Bixby resident Terry Jean Lamb in a room on the second floor of the motel where the fire started.

Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, who are investigating the fire, say Crew was inside the room where the fire originated.

Police say it's possible Lamb was dead before the fire started.

"Crew was released without charge following the interview at the Tulsa office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms," a news release states.

The investigating into the fire is ongoing.
