Monday is Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day and Oral Roberts University celebrated in a big way.
The school tried to break the Guinness World Record for the most people popping bubble wrap simultaneously for two minutes.
More than 1,100 Golden Eagles took part in ORU's "Pop Til You Drop" challenge.
The current record was set last May by a Minnesota elementary school; 942 people took part in that challenge.
Organizers at ORU said Monday's event is right in line with what the university stands for.
"We're a global university. For us to break a world record and have fun at the same time, it made sense for our school," said Jeremy Burton with ORU.
The school used 6,000 square feet of bubble wrap.
ORU won't know the official outcome for a couple of weeks.
