A Tulsa man is in jail after police say he pointed a gun at his wife and refused to come out of his home for nearly seven hours.
Officers were called to John Hastings' home near 65th and Sheridan about 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
Hastings pointed a gun at his wife, in front of her grown children, police said.
According to an arrest report, Hastings asked her if she wanted to be shot in the head, then said he was going to kill himself.
Hastings then refused to come out of his house for several hours, the report says.
The Tulsa Police Department's Special Operations Team was called in and released gas into the home to force Hastings out.
Hastings finally surrendered around 11 p.m.
He was booked on complaints of resisting arrest and pointing a deadly weapon with intent.
Capt. Franklin said because of the cold weather and the longevity of the situation, it took a total of 60-70 officers to work the case.
No one was hurt in the incident, and Hastings had minor cuts from a broken window, officers said.
