Cable Barrier Keeps Car From Going Into Tulsa Creek

A well-used cable barrier prevented a Tulsa driver from going into Mingo Creek early Saturday. It happened on the Broken Arrow Expressway exit that curves to Highway 169 at about 3 a.m.

Police say by the time the wreck was discovered, the car engine was cold and the driver was gone.

The barriers were installed a few years ago to prevent cars from going into the water on the curve. News On 6 photographer Gary Kruse said he has shot numerous wrecks at this site including four people went into the creek in December of 2003.
