Single Mothers, Including Kevin Durant's, Honored At Free Jenks Event

A Jenks church is hosting an event honoring single mothers. Wanda Pratt, mother of Oklahoma City Thunder player Kevin Durant, will be special guest speaker at the first ever Tulsa-area Jingle Jangle holiday event starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, November 22.

She's the woman he called the real NBA All-Star for the job she did raising him and his brother.

The holidays are stressful for many, and single parents face special challenges. Tulsa-area resident Machael Loghry had attended a similar event in Oklahoma City and decided to bring it to Tulsa.

It's an evening of encouragement and treats for single moms with door prizes and gifts waiting to make them feel special, she said.

The event will be held at Newspring Family Church, 2907 West 108th Place South. There are still spaces available though child care for the event is closed. 

Registration closes at 9 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2014.
