A Tulsa police officer shot and wounded a man Wednesday night.
Police say they responded to a shots fired call near 100 North Garnett Road. The original call said a man had fired shots at his girlfriend.
When police arrived, witnesses told them they saw the man chasing his girlfriend through the apartment complex, firing at her.
Police said they chased the man into the woods. The police helicopter spotted him coming out of the woods and directed officers on the ground to his location. Police say the man ignored multiple commands to drop his gun so an officer fired one shot and hit him in the shoulder.
According to EMSA, the 24-year-old man, identified as Enrique Rodriquez, was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The officer involved was Sgt. Robert Rohloff, 56. He is a 32-year TPD veteran.
