It may be cold outside, but the phone lines and Internet were burning up Friday as Garth Brooks fans tried to get tickets to his Tulsa shows.

The country music icon is in such high demand, four extra shows were added; but even with extra shows, getting through to get tickets was tough.

It's safe to say all productivity was lost in Tulsa around 10:00 Friday morning - that's when floods of Garth Brooks fans went online and snatched up more than 110,000 to the Tulsa shows in just a couple of hours.

“We're ready to fast-forward to January,” said BOK Centers' Regional Director of Marketing, Sarah Haertl.

I got my tickets to one of the January shows but it took patience, and in my case, lots of technology.

I had Ticketmaster, Brooks' website and two phones pulled out to see the country superstar; but I did what I had to, in the words of Brooks himself, I'm shameless.

Thankfully, I didn't have to be for long, my mom was on the same mission as me, calling for tickets back at her house in El Reno. She was able to get seats in section 321; nosebleeds, but better than nothing.

“Tulsans have just been craving Garth,” Haertl said.

She was watching as thousands logged on and called in hopes of scoring the coveted tickets.

“It just is an immense amount of people trying to get the exact same thing at the exact same time,” Haertl said.

The demand was so high for the January 15th, 16th, and 17th shows that four more were added the week before on the 9th, 10th and 11th.

On the night of the 10th, Brooks will perform back-to-back, once at 7 p.m. then again at 10:30 p.m. – that's a first for any BOK concert.

“We will come through and do a quick clean-up and then get people back in the venue as quickly as we can,” Haertl said.

As of Friday night there were some tickets left, but you'd have to be willing to sit alone, because only single tickets are available.

It's also important to point out that if you find tickets for more than $70, it won't be from an authorized dealer.

"There are so many scalper sites out there, and scalpers are very savvy, and they have websites that look authentic and we feel for people who got duped into buying those tickets" Haertl said.

Now that tickets have been sold to the public, the BOK is warning to be very wary of buying from unauthorized sites.

"We can't imagine anything worse than somebody coming the night of the show and trying to get in, so excited, and then they don't have a valid ticket," said Haertl.

We really encourage people to be savvy consumers, be very careful of Craigslist, be careful of the secondary ticketing sites."
