Fruit Ideas For Halloween

Monsters Teeth: 

Red and Green Apples, Slivered almonds

Slice apples and coat with lemon to prevent browning. Place slivered almonds to decorate teeth between two slices.

Caterpillar Grapes: 

Green Gapes, Mini Choc. Chips, White frosting, Skewers

1. Wash and dry grape well and thread onto skewers.

2. Trim points from skewers with scissors

3. Dot writing icing onto the back of the coated chocolate chips and place as eyes on each caterpillar.

Jack-O'-Lanterns: 

4 small navel oranges (Peeled), 4 small navel oranges (with skin for carving)

1. Peel oranges. To make the stems, insert a piece of celery into each top.

2. Choose which side of each orange will be the jack-o'-lantern's face; cut a thin slice from the bottom of each so that it rests flat. Cut faces as desired. Decorate teeth with almonds.

Boo-Nana Ghosts: 

Bananas, Raisins/Choc. Chips, skewers

1. Cut banana in half lengthwise, then in half to make four quarters

2. Insert Popsicle sticks into bananas and add the raisins or chocolate chips for the eyes. Freeze bananas on a wax paper lined cookie sheet

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds: 

What should you do with all those pumpkin seeds from your carved pumpkins? Roast them, of course! Seeds from 1 pumpkin, 1 Tbsp cinnamon, 1 Tbsp light brown sugar

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Rinse pumpkin seeds in a colander and dry with kitchen paper. Spread pumpkin seeds in one layer on a large cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

3. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over seeds. Spray briefly with cooking spray.

4. Roast for 20-25 minutes, until lightly browned, stirring halfway through.

5. Butter-flavored cooking spray

Pumpkin Fruit Dip:

Ingredients:

15 oz can of Pumpkin

1 box of Sugar Free Instant Vanilla Pudding

16 oz container of Fat Free Cool Whip

½ Tbs. pumpkin pie spice

½ Tbs. cinnamon

Directions:

1. Mix pumpkin, dry pudding mix, cool whip, and pumpkin pie spice together (by hand) in a large mixing bowl.

2. Chill for several hours before serving. .
