Tulsa Police are investigating a homicide after a female employee was killed inside a Papa John's restaurant in east Tulsa. EMSA pronounced an adult woman dead at the scene, a spokesperson said.
Officers were dispatched to the 10800 block of East 31st Street - just west of Garnett - shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday on a "shots fired" call. They have confirmed it is a murder but did not release any motive at this time.
Authorities were searching for a tan 2008 Ford Escape with Oklahoma tag 291-KSQ, according to Officer Leland Ashley. They released an update at 4:16 p.m. that the vehicle was located at Grace Church in the 9600 block of South Garnett Road.
"That vehicle is significant, we believe," Ashley said.
According to Ashley, the suspect, believed to be 24-year-old Joshua Silkey, ran into a wooded area off the Creek Turnpike near 101st Street and Garnett Road; police said they have cut off the area.
Ashley said it was an active investigation, and they did not release any additional information.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family.
