Doctors and nurses from the Muscogee Creek Nation Department of Health say strep throat is What's Going Around.

It's highly contagious and some of the symptoms include red or white patches on the back of your throat.

You may have a headache as well as a fever.

You can avoid spreading germs by not sharing food or drinks with anyone and throwing away your old toothbrush.

If you are sneezing, sniffling and have watery eyes, it may be due to allergies.

Dick Faurot and Travis Meyer say Ragweed pollen is high and will continue to be, until our first freeze.

Another reminder is that Flu shots will be available in October.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends anyone over the age of six months get vaccinated, including pregnant women and people with chronic health conditions.

People between ages two and 49 can get the nasal spray vaccine.
